Charitable Giving

One of the most important aspects of being a Santee Firefighter is giving back to the community. The Santee Firefighters Association gives back to the local community several different ways. The firefighters coordinate or participate in the following events on an annual basis:

San Diego Burn Institute Boot Drive

"Proceeds benefit Burn Institute fire and burn prevention education programs and burn survivor support programs such as Camp Beyond the Scars for burn-injured children, 8-17 years. Celebrating its 28th season, the Burn Institute’s unique camp program has provided a safe place for many hundreds of young burn survivors to share their experiences in a supportive camp environment." - Burn Institute

"Santee Santas’ signature effort is an annual holiday children’s toy and food drive focused on bringing the Christmas spirit to some 300 families in our community. Our senior outreach program ensures seniors in our community who are living alone or in senior care facilities are not forgotten over the holidays. Our volunteers serve the Santee community throughout the year, and have done so for the past sixty years!" - Santee Santas

The Rick Williams Memorial Scholarship

The Santee Firefighter Association is honored to work with the Williams family with establishing an annual Scholarship in memory of Rick Williams. Rick was a vital member of our department where he retired as a Fire Captain and contributed countless hours educating our community on fire prevention through our LAFS program.
